As we have traveled across the United States presenting our products, we have encountered many questions. Here we will try to answer all of these and provide more detail than we may have been able to in a short encounter at an event. If you don't see your question here, please fill out the contact form or just email us and we will get back to you in a timely manner.

Part of our mission is to keep our customers completely informed about what they are putting on their skin and being 100% transparent about all the ingredients in our products. We hope this helps with keeping that promise.

• What kind of CBD does Belle et Benie use in their products?

We only use full spectrum distillate in our products. Although research is still relatively new, many studies are showing that CBD combined with the other cannabinoids becomes more effective.

Pure CBD isolate doesn't contain the other potentially beneficial cannabinoids that work in conjunction with CBD to provide the best results. Crude oil can leave your skin with a greenish tint from concentrated chlorophyll and can also have other undesirables that might cause allergic reactions in some people with sensitive skin.

Distillate is the purest cannabinoid ingredient that supplies the benefits of full spectrum cannabinoids while eliminating the impurities of the crude base.

• What is CBD?

CBD or Cannabidiol is a compound found in the cannabis/hemp plant. According to recent studies, when used topically, CBD can help increase blood flow, reduce redness, reduce swelling, and reduce inflammation.

• When will I see a difference in my skin?

As always, people will have varying results with skin care products. This can be due to several factors that are not in our control; Do you currently have a skin care routine? What is your age? Do you have any pre-existing skin conditions? and so on...

On average our customers see a difference in their skin within a week or two and when used regularly see maximum effects at around 6 months.

• Are Belle et Benie's products Laboratory tested?

Absolutely! All our products are tested in house and then sent to THIRD PARTY Laboratories for Qualitative and Quantitative analysis for cross reference. We test for microbial activity, heavy metals, homogeneity and CBD concentration among others. We are more than happy to provide these results to you upon request. Please use the contact form or simply email us and we will get back to you in a timely manner.

• Are all CBD products the same?

The simple answer is no. There are many companies that are using CBD as a selling point and not actually formulating it into their products. This is giving the industry a bad name and we hope that regulators will remove these products from the market ASAP.

Another thing that differentiates products is the amount of CBD (mg per ounce) and the type of CBD oil used in the products (crude, distillate, isolate) The amount of CBD can affect the effectiveness of the products and the type of oil can affect the quality of the product.

Products will vary widely on these factors as well as all the other ingredients that are used in whatever product you are referring to.

• Can I fail a urinary analysis if I use Belle et Benie's products?

No. You're safe! The amount of THC in our products is minuscule. Around 1/100 of 1%. Even if it were stronger, THC cannot be transferred into your blood stream transdermally (through or by way of the skin).

• What is the difference between Hemp seed oil and Hemp oil?

Hemp seed oil is very different from CBD oil (distillate). Hemp seed oil is made from the seeds of the hemp plant usually using a cold press. Hemp seed oil will contain zero cannabinoids or only trace amounts. It mainly consists of fats and lipids and while it can be a good ingredient it can also be misrepresented in marketing attempts to confuse customers and mark up look-a-likes.

Hemp seed oil is much more plentiful, cheaper, and much easier to extract from the plant than CBD oil. The equipment and skill needed to extract CBD oil, at scale, is much greater and more costly than extracting hemp seed oil and shouldn't be confused with one another.

Bottom line: Hemp seed oil doesn't contain all the benefits of CBD distillate.

• Why are All Natural Ingredients important?

Chemicals can be harsh on your skin and can lead to breakouts, rashes, irritation, drying and redness. It is also important to use organic ingredients whenever possible as well.

Plants grown organically are found to contain a higher level of antioxidant vitamins than non-organic plants. Because they are grown without herbicides and pesticides, their organic ingredients are free of those toxins, which means the same for your skin and body.

• Is CBD effective for pain relief?

CBD may help in reducing inflammation and may help to reduce soreness and stiffness in joints and muscles. It will not help with major pain and should not be considered a treatment for any underlying conditions or ailments that you may have.

• What is the Endocannabinoid System?

The Human Endocannabinoid System is inside each of us and consists of receptors and transmitters that play a part in many of our body's functions.

• What is Hyaluronic Acid?

"Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in the skin, [and] it helps to bind water to collagen, trapping it in the skin, so that skin can appear plumper, dewier, and more hydrated," explains board-certified dermatologist Tsippora Shainhouse.

Warning: Applying hyaluronic acid to the skin might make skin ulcers worse in people who have a condition called scleroderma. If you have scleroderma, don't use hyaluronic acid on your skin.

• What is Collagen?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, accounting for about one-third of its protein composition. It has various important roles, including providing structure to your skin.

It’s one of the major building blocks of the skin but as we age our bodies produce less quantity and lower quality collagens.

You can think of it as the “glue” that holds the skin, bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments together. In fact, the word comes from the Greek word “kólla,” which means glue.

• Are Belle et Benie's products good for the earth?

All of our products are made with earth friendly ingredients and our containers and packaging are made from 100% recyclable materials. We understand that a world full of garbage is connected to everything we eat and drink and that we all need to play our part in recycling and disposing of our trash responsibly.

• What is the difference between CBD and THC?

CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid (it will not get you high). It is one of over 113 cannabinoids found on the Cannabis/Hemp plant.

THC binds with receptors -- mostly in the brain -- that control pain, mood, and other feelings. That's why THC can make you feel euphoric and give you that so-called high.
